Doughboats Lake Taupo Have Mastered Facebook and Instagram Content Marketing

I am sometimes a bit surprised at how unenthused companies are when it comes to social media marketing.

If you can hold a certain level of enthusiasm and consistently post and share your content with the world, you are going to eventually reap the rewards from Facebook and Instagram.

As people like Gary Vee and Neil Patel will tell you, the more high quality content you share and the more it resonates with your audience, you'll enjoy a strong level of organic growth.

So, who does this well in New Zealand. Answer: Doughboats Lake Taupo.

In my opinion, they are one of the best things to do in Taupo because it's something unique and different. I've done it twice now, once in the summer and once in the winter.

It never loses appeal.

Founders James and Laurel Kells have established a very strong and loyal audience through the use of social media, particularly on Facebook and Instagram.

Their Facebook page has almost 13,000 likes and more than 13,850 followers.

On Instagram, they have 4,081 followers.

Every single week, their posts are getting more than 15,000 people on these platforms alone.

But it's what they're posting that matters more.

Here's what I like about their approach

1. Engaging Variation

There are videos of the boats out on the lake, milestone pictures, touching stories about people who are riding in the boats, the colour of the water, their staff getaway and (in my opinion) an important reminder; beautiful pictures/videos of the lake, which every person who hasn't been down to Taupo is missing out on.

2. Brand leverage

Laurel and James have enjoyed some publicity from major media. This includes an article by the NZ Herald, a piece on ZM, and a couple of visits by well known kiwi celebrities.

For example, have a look at this picture post with Ben Boyce. 243 hearts altogether (more than the previous 15 posts and any other post since. The algorithms which see engagement this high are going to serve this ad more to people who are interested not only in Ben, but also tourism in New Zealand.

3. Regular Posting

Almost EVERY SINGLE DAY, they have at least one post up on Facebook and Instagram.

It's as simple as this. The more you post, the more your audience will see what you post.
